Indian Air force has released a notification for the post of Indian Air Force Commissioned Officer. The candidates for this post can be selected through the Air Force Common Entrance Test. The interested candidates can apply through the official website. The Eligibility for the post is any Degree and the interested candidates can apply for the post and The candidates can be selected for Meteorology Branch. The selected candidates can allot the jobs in METEOROLOGY BRANCH.(a) No. 199/16G/PC/M (Permanent Commission for men candidate) (b) No. 199/16G/SSC/M (Short Service Commission for men candidate) (c) No. 199/16G/SSC/W (Short Service Commission for women candidate) . The Education Qualification for the candidates is Post Graduation in Physics /Mathematics / Computer Application /Environmental Science / Geo – physics /Environmental Biology with minimum  50% of marks put together. The Indian Air Force Commissioned Officer candidates should have maths and physics background and they should have studied the graduation level at 55% of marks. The physical standards of candidates are as mentioned. The  minimum Height of candidates of Men must be 157.5 cms, if the candidates are Women height must be 152 Cms with correlated Weight. The Medical check up will be decided on the basic check up of Air Force Medical Authorities of India is Final.

The Indian Air Force Commissioned Officer candidates who are studying Final year can also apply  to the posts by satisfying the conditions. The conditions are candidates cannot have any backlogs or candidates should not have fail in previous classes and the candidates must have passed the previous exam with 50% of marks. The candidates should able to provide the original Degree certificate by last 15th JUNE 2016.There are two types of commissions, They are1.Permanent commission :-The candidates who are joined as Permanent Commission Officers can continued their job till the super annuation.2.Short Service Commission :-The candidates who joined as Short Service Commission Would work as commissioned Officer till 10 Years and they would continue for four Years if Vacancies provided are available.The selected candidates for Indian Air Force Commissioned Officer can be called for testing at one of the Air Force Selection Boards at Dehradun, Mysoore, Gandhi nagar and Varanasi. The test consists of 2 Stages. They are :Stage I : The Stage I consists of Written Test or Intelligence test along with other test conducted by the Air Force Selection Board. All candidates would be subjected to document check to ascertain their eligibility for the Meteorology Branch. Those candidates who either do not qualify in Stage-I testing or do not meet the required eligibility criteria would be sent back on the first day itself.Stage II : Testing consisting of Psychological Test, Group Tests and Interview will be conducted on subsequent days (Five Days).

Indian Air Force Commissioned Officer  Interview Dates :

The Indian Air Force Commissioned Officer Request for change of SSB interview date should be avoided. However, as an exception, such change may be considered based on the circumstances of the case. Request for such change should be forwarded to the respective AFSB from where the call letter for SSB interview has been received and not to Air Headquarters. The AFSBs may consider change of date at their discreti Medical Examination will be conducted at AFCME, New Delhi or IAM, Bengaluru based on the recommendations at AFSB. 8. Candidates recommended by the AFSBs and declared medically fit will be detailed for training in the order of all India Merit list depending on the number of vacancies available. Grant of PC / SSC would be based on number of vacancies, performance in the selection process and the choice given by the candidate. 9. No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained during the testing at AFSB. . 10% of the vacancies are reserved for NCC Air Wing ‘C’ certificate holderson.

Pay and Allowanes :

The salary for the Indian Air Force Commissioned Officer candidates are as follows :

Flying officers are paid for 15 600 to 39 100 along with Grade pay  Military Service Pay, Dearness Allowance, Kit Maintenance Allowance, Transport Allowance. In addition, other allowances are applicable based on nature of duty / place of posting and would include , Field Area Allowance, Special Compensatory (Hill area) Allowance, Special Force Allowance, Siachin Allowance, Island Special Duty Allowance, Hard Area Allowance and Remote Locality Allowance. On successful completion of Training, the newly Commissioned Flying Officers would be entitled to approximate gross monthly emoluments in Meteorology Branch, including Transport Allowance of major cities, of Rs 64,926/-.
