For a student starting technical education, recurring costs extend beyond the admission fee. Pragati is designed to help eligible girls meet study expenses while pursuing an approved technical degree or diploma. Before applying, identify the correct course-level entry on NSP: degree and diploma applications are listed separately.
| Who can apply? | Girls admitted to the first year, or second year through lateral entry, at an AICTE-approved institution. |
|---|---|
| Income condition | Annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹8 lakh, under the linked guidelines. |
| Annual benefit | ₹50,000, subject to selection, continued eligibility and renewal. |
| Student deadline | 31 October 2026, according to the current NSP degree and diploma listings. |
The degree guidelines allow up to four years for first-year entrants and three years for lateral-entry students. The diploma limits are three and two years respectively. These are maximum durations, not an automatic promise of payment for every enrolled year.
The guidelines permit a maximum of two eligible girls from one family. Verify the institution’s approval for your admission year and keep the prescribed income evidence ready. Selection uses qualifying-examination merit, and renewal requires academic progression and the specified records.
The ₹50,000 is a yearly lump sum intended for study-related costs such as fees, books, equipment and computing needs. The linked rules do not provide a separate hostel or medical grant under Pragati. Plan expenses around an approved award rather than assuming every cost will be reimbursed.
For a renewal, prepare the passing/progression evidence requested on NSP. Read the current conditions on other financial assistance before accepting overlapping awards.
Read the live specifications and announcements before applying, especially if a deadline or rule has changed. JobJet is an independent information website; it does not sanction scholarships or collect applications.
