Ishan Uday helps eligible students from the North Eastern Region enter recognised undergraduate education. The first checks are your domicile, where you completed Class 12, and the recognition of your current degree programme—not simply whether the college describes its course as professional.
| Study stage | First-year admission to an eligible regular/full-time undergraduate degree programme. |
|---|---|
| Regional requirement | Valid NER domicile and Class 12 or equivalent from a school within NER, subject to the guidelines. |
| Parental income | Below ₹4.5 lakh annually. |
| Current published rate | ₹80,000 per year on UGC’s scheme page. |
| Student deadline | 31 October 2026, according to NSP. |
UGC’s current scheme page lists ₹80,000 annually. The guidelines linked from NSP describe ₹8,000 a month for ten months. This differs from older summaries quoting ₹5,400 or ₹7,800 monthly. Use the current award and portal instructions when planning your finances; do not combine rates from different versions.
The linked rules cover a first undergraduate degree through regular/full-time study. For integrated or dual-degree programmes, only the undergraduate component is covered. They exclude distance, correspondence, private/part-time study and management-quota admission. Confirm that your institution satisfies the applicable recognition, accreditation and NSP requirements before applying.
Selection is merit-based within the scheme’s allocated slots. Completing the form therefore does not itself establish an entitlement. Keep your academic records and subsequent progress evidence organised so you can respond to verification or renewal requests without relying on an old admission receipt.
If a record contains a spelling or date discrepancy, ask the issuing institution how to correct it. Avoid submitting inconsistent information just to meet a deadline.
Read the live specifications and announcements before applying, especially if a deadline or rule has changed. JobJet is an independent information website; it does not sanction scholarships or collect applications.
