PM-USP CSSS supports eligible college and university students with part of the cost of higher education. The amount depends on the course and year of study; it is not a guaranteed ₹20,000 award for every applicant.
Deadline clarification: NSP currently shows 31 October 2026 for renewal applications. Do not treat this as a confirmed fresh-application deadline. The scheme’s live portal instructions take priority.

The Ministry’s published guidance describes a merit-cum-means scheme: applicants must be above the 80th percentile among successful students in their relevant Class 12 board and stream, pursue a regular course, and meet the income ceiling of up to ₹4.5 lakh a year. The percentile requirement is a relative board cut-off, not a fixed percentage of marks.
The published fresh-applicant FAQ also excludes diploma and distance/correspondence study and sets restrictions on other scholarships or fee reimbursement. Fresh-entry rules and renewal conditions are different: existing beneficiaries should follow the renewal instructions for their course and academic year.
The Ministry reports ₹12,000 annually for the first three years and ₹20,000 for eligible fourth/fifth-year study. Check the course-specific rules before estimating your entitlement. Selection, verification and continued eligibility determine payment; submitting an application does not guarantee an award.
NSP also lists 15 November 2026 for institute verification and 30 November 2026 for the subsequent verification stage. These are separate from the student renewal deadline.
Eligibility summary draws on the Ministry’s published scheme guidance and 2025–26 FAQ. Check the current scheme specifications through NSP for changes. JobJet is an independent information website and does not collect scholarship applications.
