College route: check the notified institution

The college guidelines linked by NSP require a prescribed full-time course at a notified institution and annual family income up to ₹2.5 lakh. Admission alone does not secure an award: institutional slots and selection rules also matter.

They provide tuition and non-refundable fee support, with a ₹2 lakh yearly ceiling for private institutions and a separate ₹3.72 lakh ceiling for specified private flying courses. Listed additional support includes ₹3,000 monthly living expenses, ₹5,000 yearly books/stationery assistance and a one-time computer package capped at ₹45,000. Check the current specifications for your course before budgeting.

School route: a different benefit structure

The school component covers eligible students in identified Top Class Schools from Class 9 to Class 12. Its linked guidelines specify household income below ₹2.5 lakh. Support for school-required charges is capped at ₹75,000 annually for Classes 9–10 and ₹1.25 lakh for Classes 11–12. Do not apply the college allowance table to a school application.

Check the current school announcement

At the time of checking, NSP’s fresh school-application announcement excluded Rajasthan, Keralam and Karnataka temporarily and asked students from those states to wait. Check that live announcement before attempting submission; the restriction may change.

A practical application plan

Ask your institution which exact component and institution entry applies. Prepare the income and community evidence it requests, then confirm the fee record against your admission details. Keep a copy of the final submission and ask the nodal officer how to track verification. A request for clarification should be addressed promptly rather than treated as an award decision.
